In March 2020, Michelle Brenner was furloughed from her job (Covid-19). Michelle decided to use her $1200 stimulus check to buy ingredients and make lasagnas for anyone who wanted/needed one, including 1st responders, individuals and families in need, etc. To date, Michelle has given away over 1,500 lasagnas – and her “Lasagna Lady” legacy continues to grow. Willa Johnson is a mother and grandmother who quit her job in 2011 to dedicate her life to feeding hungry children. Willa owns a catering business called The Soul Food Kitchen, which funds her work to feed hungry children during holiday breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, etc) and the summer months. Ms. Willa feeds hundreds of children every day, and over Thanksgiving break she fed over 450 children a day, and she expects the same numbers or more during the upcoming Spring Break.
