Cara Brookins is the mother of 4, who took the world by storm a few years ago, when she and her children built a 3,500 square feet house from the ground up with nothing but YouTube videos to guide them. After fleeing domestic violence, Cara and her children were desperate to find a home to lay their head at night and a safe place to start a new life, so they found a plot of land and began laying out the plans for their dream home. With nothing but determination, hard work, willingness, passion, and each other – this family of 5 built their 3,500 square feet house, start to finish, in 9 months. Incredible!

Cara joins the 1 Girl Revolution podcast to share about her life growing up, relationships she went through, the trauma and domestic violence she experienced and survived, how she and her 4 children fled an abusive relationship, and went on to build their big dreams – and a big, beautiful house – together. Cara talks about her inspiring book “Rise” (LINK), motherhood, raising 4 children, how she and her family found hope, purpose and perseverance through everything they’ve experienced, how to be a “parachute parent”, and so much more.

Cara’s story is so empowering and it will bring you so much hope and encourage you to build something big and beautiful with your life, and to chase your dreams. You have the power to change the world through your life, you are so resilient, powerful, and amazing, and Cara will remind you of that – and help you to see that.
