Episode 112: Doris: Supporting Other World-Changing Women and Their Causes

Doris Gilles, Founder of Project Beautiful - Inside and Out

Doris Gilles, founder of Project Beautiful – Inside and Out, joins the 1 Girl Revolution Podcast to share her life story, how Project Beautiful came to be, and to talk about the incredible work they’re doing to support other world-changing women and their organizations and causes. Doris talks about how sometimes it’s the little things that we do that can have the greatest impact and how sometimes we don’t have to start something new to help others — sometimes supporting organizations, volunteering, or getting involved in what others are doing can be just as important. Doris talks about Project Beautiful’s 20,000 Smiles grants that One Girl Revolution (our 501c3 nonprofit organization) was one of the recipients of this year, Doris also discusses the incredible world-changing women and their organizations and causes that Project Beautiful has supported throughout the years, and the projects that they’ve done to support those experiencing homelessness, children in foster care, children and families in need, and so much more. Doris and her incredible organization are changing the world, one woman / one organization at a time.

A little more about Doris: Doris has a BBA from The University of Michigan and an MBA from Emory University.  She worked at Chrysler in Procurement & Supply for two years and at Procter & Gamble on the K-Mart Customer Business Development Team for five years.  Past entrepreneurial efforts include an on-line gift boutique and a travel and event planning business. Doris and her husband, Ralph, have been active in charitable organizations for many years.  They enjoy traveling with their two daughters, Tia and Sydney, and spending time at car shows and race tracks.
