Laura Bonnell is the mother of two children with Cystic Fibrosis and is the founder of The Bonnell Foundation. Laura was a reporter for many years and was actually at the press conference where the doctor who discovered the cystic fibrosis gene announced it to the world. Interestingly enough, after she got married and had two daughters of her own, both of her daughters were diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, the very genetic disorder that she witnessed the press conference announcement for years before.
Laura joins the 1 Girl Revolution podcast to share her own life story; she talks about what cystic fibrosis is and more about her own family’s journey with CF; she talks about her daughters Molly and Emily and their individual journeys with CF and how they were different and similar; she talks about how they’re doing now and what they’re doing now (both of them are incredible young women, doing amazing things!); she shares her own journey as the mother of two children with CF; she talks about The Bonnell Foundation and what she and her family are doing to help other individuals and families dealing with CF; she talks about resources for families and individuals with CF and what’s currently going on in the medical community; and so much more!
Laura used to tell her girls, “Everyone has something… we have CF.” The reality is, we all have something, so whether or not you have a direct connection to CF or know someone with CF, you will be inspired and empowered by Laura’s story and this episode of the 1 Girl Revolution podcast. You don’t want to miss this episode!
