Episode 237: Up ENDing Parkinson’s – Molly Cupka

On this week’s episode of The 1 Girl Revolution Podcast, we welcome Molly Cupka, founder of Up ENDing Parkinson’s—a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

Molly has been passionate about climbing for years and currently serves as the Director of Sportrock Climbing Center in Alexandria, VA. Her groundbreaking work integrates rock climbing as a therapeutic tool for Parkinson’s. Up ENDing Parkinson’s began after Molly witnessed the health and wellness improvements of one of her climbing clients who was living with Parkinson’s. That transformative experience, combined with research and her passion for helping others, inspired Molly to create the organization.

Up ENDing Parkinson’s offers climbing opportunities, builds a supportive community, and provides a network for individuals with Parkinson’s. Through programs focused on exercise, connection, and advocacy, Up ENDing Parkinson’s is empowering people to live fulfilling and empowered lives.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

  • Molly’s inspiring life story and the journey that led to the creation of Up ENDing Parkinson’s;
  • How exercise, including rock climbing, is transforming lives and combating the effects of Parkinson’s;
  • Insight into the challenges faced by those living with Parkinson’s and their families—and how Molly is working to address them;
