“I was one of the four – the statistic for women that experience sexual assault. It really sparked in me, if I couldn’t be loud enough to speak for myself, then there is other women that are feeling the same way. You are so much more than that little piece that someone has taken from you. I think the hardest part of going through a trauma, or even an addition, is that you feel like your power was taken. So it really is taking back your power through accepting who you are and knowing your worth.”
Gaby is a survivor of sexual assault, but uses her own experience as a way to connect with other women and help them overcome their own trauma and/or addiction. Gaby now works at a rehabilitation center for women, empowering other women.
